Cybersecurity Analyst

Role Description The Cybersecurity Analyst role at Innovate with NPCI is a part-time remote position focused on protecting applications, networks, and systems from security threats. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring security alerts and logs, analyzing potential incidents, and assisting in incident response activities. The analyst will perform vulnerability assessments, support application and network security reviews, and contribute to malware analysis and threat intelligence efforts. This role involves documenting findings, preparing clear reports, and collaborating with technology teams to implement security controls and best practices. The analyst is expected to stay current with emerging threats, tools, and regulatory requirements relevant to digital payments and financial services.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Cybersecurity and Application Security, with experience applying security principles to real-world systems.
Knowledge of Network Security concepts and practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network design.
Experience or coursework in Malware Analysis and threat intelligence, with the ability to interpret indicators of compromise.
Demonstrated Analytical Skills, including the ability to investigate incidents, interpret security data, and draw evidence-based conclusions.
Familiarity with security tools (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection) and common security frameworks or standards (such as ISO 27001, NIST, or PCI-DSS).
Relevant education in computer science, information security, engineering, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP associate) are an advantage.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time schedules, and maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality.
