Recruitment for Bach Ma Education Officer
Animals Asia is devoted to ending bear bile farming and improving the welfare of animals across Asia. We are committed to ending the suffering of animals throughout Asia by promoting compassion and respect for all animals, while striving to create long-term and sustainable change. Animals Asia is currently seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the position Bach Ma Education Officer with details as follows:
Position: Bach Ma Education Officer
Employment type: Full-time
Contract duration: One-year contract, extendable based on performance with initial 2-month probationary period
Work location: Bach Ma Bear Rescue Centre, Bach Ma National Park, Phu Loc, Hue City
Role Purpose: You will be the first face visitors meet at the sanctuary. Most of your time goes into welcoming and guiding groups: Bach Ma National Park visitors, visiting groups, and students. Through tours, talks and school programmes, you'll help people understand bear protection, bear welfare and why bear bile farming must end, and you'll make sure every visit is engaging, accurate and safe for both people and bears.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver education and awareness activities for visitors at the sanctuary, and outreach in schools and communities.
Welcome and guide national park visitors, visiting groups, students and school groups, and partner and government delegations.
Keep every visit safe: brief visitors, manage groups, and protect bears from disturbance and stress.
Create and update education materials: presentations, signage, displays and other resources.
Take care of the education room and its resources (shared with our Supporter Engagement team), the educational trail, signage and displays, and flag upkeep needs in the herbal gardens.
Build strong relationships with schools, education authorities, the national park, local authorities and community partners.
Work closely with the bear care, vet and security teams so education never compromises animal care or sanctuary operations.
Keep records, collect activity data and contribute to plans and reports
Requirements:
Essential
Experience planning, coordinating and delivering education, awareness or community activities.
Confident presenting to very different audiences, from schoolchildren and tourists to government officials.
Experience working with communities, schools and government authorities.
Fluent Vietnamese and English at B2 / upper-intermediate level (VSTEP or equivalent).
Strong organisation and time management, and a calm hand with groups of visitors.
Comfortable using computers, cameras and presentation software.
Desirable
Bachelor's degree in Forestry (Forest Management preferred) or a related field.
Hands-on knowledge of planting, caring for and propagating plants.
Basic design, photography, filming and video editing skills.
Completed training in communication and public relations.
