CNC Machinist

We are delighted to announce that we are seeking a Machinist to join our Service Centre team based at our site on Newbold Road in Rugby. You will be working as part of our team using a variety of machines including Mills, Lathes and Drills. As a CNC machinist you will manufacture large bespoke items from high grade metals ensuring quality of products and operations are aligned to drawings, customer order requirements as well as internal and regulatory quality standards.
This position requires technical competence in reading drawings as well as the ability to write and edit code to ensure that the end product is manufactured to the highest quality. You will also carry out self inspection on manufactured parts using micrometers and other inspection tools.
Within the role you will work as part of a skilled and experienced workforce, supporting EHS, Quality, Continuous improvement and New Product initiatives in line with business need ensuring compliance to company and general Health and Safety, environmental and quality standards and regulations.
Our machinists work on a rotation basis across 3 shifts (07.00-15.30, 15.15-21.30 and 21.30-07.00) and work Monday to Friday (Monday to Thursday if on a night rotation)

Qualifications and Experience
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineer, alternatively a recognized apprenticeship within engineering could also be considered.
Experience of 5 axis machining, Turning and Milling
Be able to edit NC programs and experience required with Siemens 840D controls would be advantageous
Demonstrable experience within a manufacturing environment, rotating equipment would be an advantage.

This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance as a UK Passport Holder. Applicants not cleared will not be accepted into the business until this clearance is provided. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority
