About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
How has your experience looking for a new job been so far?
You must have read quite a few job descriptions, asked GPT to look companies up, scrolled through their websites and LinkedIn pages, perhaps even tried to find out what their current and former employees have to say on the review platforms.
But what are you really trying to find out?
What is this place actually like?
Will I fit in?
Will I grow?
Is the culture they talk about the culture I’ll actually experience?
Almost every candidate is trying to find these answers. But here’s another question: how can organisations figure out what the answers should be? That’s where we come in.
Working at the intersection of Brand, People & Culture, we help organisations understand what makes them tick. Why do people choose them, stay at, or leave, and what they might need to change.
Then, we turn those insights into experiences that help organisations live up to their promises, and stories that help the right talent see what makes them worth choosing.
And we’re looking for someone to take up the mantle of Associate Consultant, Employer Brand.
Who might you be?
Someone with 1–2 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, branding or people practices, and the curiosity to build expertise in a niche that sits somewhere between all of them.
You don't need to arrive knowing Employer Branding inside out. That's what we're here to help you figure out.
What might a typical day look like?
There isn't really a typical one. Depending on what needs solving that day, you could find yourself:
- Going down research rabbit holes to understand talent, competitors, industries and whatever else the internet throws up.
- Finding the right words for what makes an organisation a good place to work.
- Keeping the content engine running and drafting copy that, ideally, makes talent stop scrolling.
- Making sure briefs are clear, assets land on time and nothing quietly disappears between the cracks.
- Helping set up, manage and optimise paid campaigns across platforms.
- Turning numbers into narratives that tell us what worked, what didn’t and what we should do next.
- Keeping an eye on employer review platforms, spotting patterns and helping organisations respond thoughtfully.
And yes, there will be slides. Quite a few.
What would make you good at it?
Employer Branding requires us to spend a lot of time switching seats.
One moment, you're thinking like someone considering a job. The next, an organisation hiring them. One moment, you put on the hat of a Brand Manager. The next, you're discussing employee experience with the HR. Sometimes you're a wordsmith. Sometimes you're staring at campaign numbers trying to figure out the story they tell.
So if you've ever felt too interested in words for the numbers people and too interested in numbers for the words people, you may fit right in.
It would also help if you:
- Are naturally curious and enjoy figuring out the why behind things
- Can take a lot of information and find the story hiding inside it
- Write clearly, and know when fewer words will do a better job
- Have an eye for brands, communication and what makes something worth paying attention to
- Are comfortable coordinating people, timelines and moving pieces
- Don't mind learning something new because a client problem demands it
Why Carpediem?
For starters, pigeonholes are in short supply here.
You'll work across industries, problems and disciplines, from employer brand strategy and EVP articulation to talent communication, employee experience, campaigns and activation. You'll work closely with senior consultants, creatives and marketers, with plenty of room to own your work as you grow. You'll also see ideas travel the full distance, from something somebody said in an interview, to an insight on a slide, to a campaign or experience out in the real world.
And over time, if client consulting is where you'd like to head, we'll help you make that journey too. The learning curve can be steep. Fortunately, the view gets interesting rather quickly. Think this sounds like your kind of day?
Come help us turn employees into ambassadors, organisations into talent destinations and a fair number of blank slides into something rather more compelling. If not us, then who?
