Android OS Developer - Automotive

About the Role
We are looking for an Automotive Android Development & Testing Engineer to develop and test Android application and middleware components for automotive platforms. You will work across the Android Framework, system services and HAL, build automated tests that follow ASPICE compliance, and debug and profile issues on ARM-based devices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop Android application and middleware components for automotive platforms.
Work with the Android Framework, including startup, Binder, AIDL, HAL, SELinux and system services.
Develop and integrate VHAL and Car Service components.
Design, develop and maintain automated tests in line with ASPICE compliance.
Debug and profile issues on ARM devices across the software stack.
Work with USB, audio, networking and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Android stacks.
Collaborate with development, integration and validation teams to resolve issues and deliver quality software.
Required Skills
Programming and Development
Proficiency in Java and C++.
Experience in Android application and middleware development.
Experience developing automated tests adhering to ASPICE compliance.
Android Platform
Experience with the Android Framework, including startup, Binder, AIDL, HAL, SELinux and system services.
Experience with VHAL and Car Service.
Good overview of the USB, audio, networking and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Android stacks.
Debugging and Profiling
Experience working with ARM devices, including strong debugging and profiling skills.
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Python scripting.
Who You Are
You have solid Java and C++ skills and hands-on experience in Android middleware and application development.
You understand the Android Framework and automotive-specific components such as VHAL and Car Service.
You are comfortable writing automated tests within an ASPICE-compliant process.
You are a strong debugger who can analyze and profile issues on ARM devices.
You communicate clearly and work well with cross-functional teams.
