Social Media Specialist (Volunteer) - Remote

ABOUT US
Animal Heroes is one of the fastest-growing emergency aid organisations for animals in Europe. Together with local animal rescuers and organisations, we provide emergency aid to animals in crisis areas around the world. Since our foundation three years ago, we have launched 46 emergency aid projects across 13 countries.
We also run veterinary clinics in Gaza and the West Bank, providing free, life-saving care to animals in need.
Our international team consists of 28 skilled volunteers from 14 nationalities, with backgrounds including veterinary medicine, animal welfare, logistics, marketing and finance.
We work in some of the most challenging areas in the world, providing practical emergency aid, raising awareness and generating essential funds through donors, media and corporate partners. We are not a political or activist organisation; our mission is to provide life-saving assistance to animals in need.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As our Social Media Specialist, you will play an important role in strengthening Animal Heroes' online presence, engaging our audiences and helping us reach more people who care about animal welfare.
Working closely with our Social Media and Marketing & Communications team, you will:
Help develop and optimise our social media strategy to increase visibility, engagement and support for our mission.
Plan and manage social media content, including the content calendar, creation of visuals and copy, and publication across our channels.
Act as the main social media contact for one of our local Animal Heroes, proactively collecting and coordinating stories, photos and updates.
Contribute to the development and execution of social media campaigns, from concept to implementation.
Help manage our social media accounts and engage with our online community.
Monitor and analyse social media performance, identify opportunities and optimise results.
WHO ARE YOU?
You are passionate about animal welfare and motivated to contribute your skills to a meaningful cause.
You have hands-on experience managing social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn.
You understand how to create engaging content and grow an online audience.
You have experience with social media analytics and know how to turn insights into improvements.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional languages are a plus.
You are creative, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of your work.
You enjoy collaborating with others in an international, remote-working environment.
You are proficient in Canva; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
