Role Description The Interior Architect / Sr. Interior Designer will be responsible for designing and developing interior concepts for residential and commercial projects, ensuring alignment with ABAD Builders’ design standards and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include space planning, preparing layouts and detailed drawings, coordinating interior fit-out works, selecting materials and finishes, and collaborating with project engineers, site supervisors, and vendors. The role involves conducting site visits, monitoring execution quality, resolving design and technical issues, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. The position is full time and based in Ernakulam, requiring close coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Major Roles
Client Consultation and Needs Assessment: Interior architects need to work closely with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and objectives for the interior space. Conduct initial consultations, site visits, and interviews to gather information about the project scope, budget, timeline, and design expectations.
Space Planning and Layout Design: Interior architects develop spatial layouts and floor plans that optimize the use of available space while meeting the functional needs of occupants. consider factors such as traffic flow, circulation patterns, zoning regulations, accessibility requirements, and ergonomic considerations to create efficient and user-friendly interior environments.
Concept Development and Design: Interior architects conceptualize design ideas and develop creative concepts that reflect the client's vision, brand identity, and design goals. They create mood boards, sketches, renderings, and 3D models to communicate design concepts and present design proposals to clients for review and approval.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Space Planning and Interior Design, with the ability to create functional, aesthetic layouts tailored to diverse client needs.
Strong foundation in Interior Architecture, including understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods.
Hands-on experience in Interior Fit-out execution, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and site teams to maintain design integrity and quality.
Relevant degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, or Interior Architecture from a recognized institution.
Competence in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar), and familiarity with presentation tools.
Strong project coordination, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in handling similar senior position with Interior Firm.
