About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Company Description VrajraVarahi Advance Research for Adaptive Human Initiatives (VARAHI) is a deep-tech research institution focused on turning systemic and environmental risks into actionable survival protocols. Working at the intersection of science and engineering, the organization designs resilient, autonomous systems to protect human activity in extreme and frontier environments. VARAHI operates across four core domains: space-time and deep physics, process integration and robotics, human survival and resilience, and societal systems. Key initiatives include high-efficiency integrated energy systems, decentralized atmospheric water generation, autonomous ecosystem and logistics architectures for remote terrains, and advanced professional development programs. The institution collaborates with commercial partners, global deep-tech clusters, and national research bodies to deliver proprietary research, strategic risk consulting, and technology licensing.
Role Description This Civil Engineer internship is a hybrid role based in Leh, with a mix of on-site field work and office-based tasks and some work-from-home flexibility. The intern will support the planning, design, and evaluation of civil infrastructure related to resilient ecosystems, off-grid logistics, and resource extraction systems in challenging terrains. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with civil engineering design calculations, preparing drawings and models, contributing to stormwater management and site planning studies, and helping assess structural and environmental constraints. The role also involves data collection, documentation of field observations, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards. Interns will gain exposure to deep-tech research environments and contribute to pilot projects aligned with VARAHI’s survival and resilience initiatives.
