Senior Principal AI Engineer- AI Center of Excellence

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Principal AI Engineer- AI Center of Excellence to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will help shape the technical direction for AI infrastructure supporting enterprise-scale machine learning capabilities. The selected individual will lead architecture decisions across HPC, cloud, and production AI environments, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and scalability. This is a highly visible position that will collaborate with engineering and governance partners to advance next-generation AI enablement across the organization.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $212,000 – $339,000 annually
Responsibilities
Define the technical vision and architecture for AI infrastructure
Lead the evolution of HPC and cloud-based systems
Design infrastructure for LLM training and machine learning workloads
Solve complex performance and scalability challenges
Establish engineering patterns for reliability and security
Embed governance and compliance into AI infrastructure
Evaluate and influence emerging technologies for enterprise architecture
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in AI engineering or related fields
Proven track record in architecting secure, enterprise-scale platforms
Deep expertise in HPC, GPU computing, and Kubernetes
Experience with LLM training and production AI platforms
Strong knowledge of distributed systems and observability
Demonstrated leadership in complex technical initiatives
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred
