AI Research Scientist 4/5 - Generative Models, Recommender Systems

For our client, we are seeking a AI Research Scientist 4/5 - Generative Models, Recommender Systems to join the team of a leader in the Hospitality & Recreation space.
This role will focus on advancing generative AI capabilities that improve content quality, personalization, and audience experience across a large-scale consumer platform. The scientist will lead research and model development efforts spanning summarization, evaluation of generated text, and post-training methods for large language models. This position also partners closely with ML engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to translate research into practical business applications and decision support.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $300,000 – $537,000 annually
Responsibilities
Track advancements in LLM and generative model research to identify business opportunities.
Apply advanced techniques to improve summarization quality and develop evaluators for generated content.
Lead the end-to-end development of ML solutions, including research, model training, and evaluation.
Optimize content generation and audience targeting by integrating recommendation system principles.
Collaborate with ML scientists and engineers to implement models in business applications.
Translate complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders to guide strategic decisions.
Act as a subject matter expert to identify high-impact opportunities and develop execution roadmaps.
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, particularly in Natural Language Processing/Understanding and Generation.
Strong research background in summarization or generated-text evaluation, with familiarity in LLM-as-judge methods.
Expertise in LLM post-training approaches and their applications.
Experience with recommendation systems or member-facing optimization systems is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to track advancements in LLM and generative model research and apply them to business problems.
