Software Engineer II - Storefront Services Team

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer II - Storefront Services Team to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.
This engineer will help build and evolve customer-facing backend services that power digital commerce experiences at scale. The role partners closely with product managers and teammates to translate requirements into technical designs, extend API capabilities, and improve the reliability and performance of core storefront functionality. There is also an opportunity to contribute to emerging AI-driven shopping experiences within the company's platform.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $112,000 – $168,000 annually
Responsibilities
Build and maintain features for the company's storefront experiences in collaboration with product managers
Extend GraphQL API queries while ensuring backward compatibility
Evolve backend services to support AI-driven shopping experiences
Investigate and resolve production issues to enhance service performance
Review code from teammates and participate in design reviews to improve skills
Qualifications
3+ years of experience building production backend services
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
Production experience with Scala or Kotlin, or willingness to learn Scala
Experience collaborating with product managers to translate requirements into technical designs
Familiarity with HTTP fundamentals and GraphQL APIs
Experience with service-to-service communication and caching technologies
Proficient in debugging production issues using monitoring tools
