Principal Software Development Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will focus on architecting and optimizing scalable cloud systems that support high availability, performance, and secure delivery in a fast-moving technology environment.
The successful candidate will partner closely with engineering and operations stakeholders to strengthen automation, observability, and deployment practices across the platform.
In this position, you will help advance modern infrastructure capabilities that improve reliability, efficiency, and overall system resilience.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $225,600 – $338,400 annually
Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable cloud architectures for high availability and performance optimization
Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for rapid and reliable feature delivery
Manage and optimize containerized workloads for efficient resource utilization
Implement and manage serverless architectures to enhance platform flexibility and cost-efficiency
Build comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection and resolution
Implement security best practices and compliance standards across cloud infrastructure
Qualifications
Proven experience in designing and managing AWS cloud infrastructure for scalable applications
Expertise in AWS services, Kubernetes, and Terraform; proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, AWS Lambda, and observability tools like Datadog
Experience with Service Meshes, API Gateway, MongoDB administration, and microservices architecture is preferred
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead projects independently and integrate feedback effectively
Analytical mindset with a focus on improving system efficiency and performance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex technical ideas
