Senior Software Engineer, Backend/Fullstack (Coinbase Advisor - Agentic Trading)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend/Fullstack (Coinbase Advisor - Agentic Trading) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will focus on building and operating backend systems that support AI-driven trading experiences, with an emphasis on reliability, safety, and execution quality. You will work closely with product, engineering, and compliance partners to deliver customer-facing capabilities in a regulated environment. The position also involves shaping agent behavior, orchestrating tool use, and improving how recommendations are translated into accurate actions.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $186,065 – $218,900 annually
Responsibilities
Own backend services from design through operation for an AI-driven trading experience.
Build integrations with trading APIs to support accurate execution of agent recommendations.
Develop the agentic harness for tool calling and orchestration.
Shape agent behavior through prompt engineering and conversation analysis.
Enhance service reliability, latency, and execution safety.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-facing features within regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.
Strong expertise in API design, distributed systems, and data modeling.
Proficiency in Go or a demonstrated ability to learn it quickly.
Experience with production LLM or agentic systems, including orchestration and evaluation.
Ability to manage ambiguous projects from inception to production with minimal oversight.
Responsible use of generative AI, ensuring human oversight for quality outputs.
