Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Pipeline Designer with strong expertise in 2D drafting using AutoCAD for Oil & Gas pipeline engineering projects. The candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing pipeline drawings, layouts, alignment sheets, and detailed engineering deliverables in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and develop 2D pipeline engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
Develop pipeline alignment sheets, route layouts, crossing drawings, and pipeline general arrangement drawings.
Prepare pipeline plan and profile drawings, typical installation details, and construction drawings.
Develop drawings for pipeline crossings, including roads, railways, rivers, and other utilities.
Prepare pipeline station layouts, piping arrangements, and associated engineering drawings as required.
Interpret survey data, engineering inputs, P&IDs, and project specifications for drawing preparation.
Review and revise drawings based on engineering comments and client requirements.
Coordinate with Pipeline Engineers, Civil Engineers, and other engineering disciplines.
Ensure drawing accuracy, proper layering, dimensions, annotations, and compliance with CAD standards.
Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and document control requirements.
Support detailed engineering and preparation of AFC (Approved for Construction) drawings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or a relevant engineering discipline.
5 to 15+ years of experience in pipeline design and 2D drafting, preferably in Oil & Gas projects.
Strong hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD 2D – Mandatory.
Experience preparing pipeline alignment sheets, route maps, crossing details, and engineering layouts.
Good understanding of onshore pipeline engineering drawings and drafting standards.
Knowledge of pipeline components, fittings, valves, and associated infrastructure.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, survey inputs, and engineering documentation.
Experience in Oil & Gas EPC or engineering consultancy projects is preferred.
Preferred Skills
Experience working on international Oil & Gas pipeline projects.
Familiarity with ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, and applicable project standards.
Basic knowledge of GIS / ArcGIS and pipeline route mapping.
Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Candidate Requirements
Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years in pipeline drafting/design.
Mandatory Software: AutoCAD 2D.
Work Location: Bangalore.
Notice Period: Immediate to 30 days preferred.
