Contract: B2B collaboration - 12 months (with possibility of extension)
Location: Remote (only Romania)
Working time: 09:00–17:00/18:00 (Romanian time), flexible as long as delivery is consistent

About the Project
This is a new strategic product designed to become the single point of truth for goods orders across the organization. The platform empowers planners, enables real-time decision-making, and is set to revolutionize end-to-end Order Management. The product is currently in full development and is being rolled out country by country.
This engineering team is working at the intersection of backend engineering, distributed systems, and cloud-native delivery.
The environment combines new product development with modern engineering practices, built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes.
Team & Delivery Model
You will work inside a cross-functional team of around 10 engineers, responsible for the full software development life cycle.
The team is part of a global, remote workforce delivering for a large international account, with colleagues in Romania and India and a Romanian-speaking squad lead based in Germany.
The working style is agile and lean, with pair programming, continuous refactoring, and a strong focus on delivering the most value through small, well-defined stories.
What You Will Do
As a Senior Java Engineer, your work includes:
Designing and developing backend services in Java 17 / Spring Boot
Building scalable microservices and RESTful APIs secured with JWT
Implementing reliable distributed processing across multiple Kubernetes pods
Integrating event-driven flows using Google Cloud Pub/Sub (Kafka experience translates easily)
Working with PostgreSQL (Cloud SQL) and JPA for robust data persistence
Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker, and deployments on GKE / Kubernetes
Monitoring and troubleshooting production services with Datadog
It is a mix of hands-on engineering, architecture thinking (DDD, microservices), and DevOps ownership.
Technical Stack
Must-Have:
Senior-level Java with Spring Boot (strong hands-on experience, 5+ years)
Strong JPA expertise and distributed processing across multiple pods
Queuing / messaging services (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar)
RESTful APIs and authorization mechanisms (JWT)
SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (deployment, configuration, troubleshooting)
CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
Advanced level of English
Nice to Have
Spring WebFlux

Logging & monitoring tools (Datadog, ELK Stack)
Domain Driven Design
