What you'll be doing:
At Avon, we're passionate about empowering people and driving business success through strong financial stewardship. We're looking for a Chief Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across our accounting processes. This is an exciting opportunity to work with regional and global share center teams while making a meaningful impact on our finance operations.
As Chief Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company's financial records and reporting. You'll oversee month-end and year-end accounting activities, support statutory and corporate reporting requirements, and help ensure all financial statements and tax obligations are delivered accurately and on time. Working closely with share center finance teams, auditors, service providers, and business partners, you'll provide expert accounting guidance, support audits and inspections, and help strengthen financial controls. You'll also contribute to process improvements, share best practices, and help drive operational excellence across the finance function.
Key responsibilities:
Preparing VAT and other Tax Statutory declarations
Preparing statutory financial statements and local regulatory filings
Preparing Tax and Corporate income tax statements
P&L and BS accounts IFRS and Statutory GAAP understanding and reconciliation ownership
Supporting corporate month-end close activities, as well as understanding and recording IFRS vs Statutory accounting differences
Overseeing compliance SOX controls, and internal policies.
Coordinating external audits, statutory audits, and regulatory inspections
Monitoring changes in local regulations and implementing required process updates.
Partnering with shared services center teams and tax and internal control teams to enhance processes and ensure effective service delivery.
Understand and review market processes and instruct share service teams on any required process change
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance across accounting operations
What we're looking for
4+ years of experience preferably in Chief accountant position
Strong knowledge of Statutory accounting and taxation standards
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Experience working in international and cross-functional environments.
A proactive mindset, continuous improvement focus, and enthusiasm for learning and development.
