Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer – Refrigeration will design and develop refrigeration systems and components for industrial and commercial applications. This full-time, on-site role is based in Gandhinagar and involves creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings, selecting appropriate materials and components, and performing calculations related to heat load, energy efficiency, and system performance. The role includes preparing technical documentation, supporting manufacturing and installation teams, and coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure designs meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards. The engineer will also participate in troubleshooting, design improvements, and cost optimization, while contributing to project planning and timelines.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
Experience with refrigeration system design, including component selection (compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves) and piping layout.
Proficiency in CAD tools for mechanical design and drafting (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software).
Ability to perform engineering calculations for load analysis, efficiency optimization, and performance verification.
Knowledge of relevant standards, safety codes, and best practices in refrigeration and HVAC engineering.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and clients.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline; prior experience in refrigeration or HVAC design is an advantage.
Willingness to work on-site in Gandhinagar and support field activities such as installation reviews and technical issue resolution.
