Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance a legacy software application built using VC++ and MFC with RDBMS.
Diagnose and fix software defects, ensuring the stability and reliability of the application.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
Perform code reviews, write efficient code, and maintain coding standards and best practices.
Optimize application performance and ensure scalability and security of the software.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
8+ years of experience in software development using VC++ with a strong emphasis on MFC.
Experience in developing MDI applications using MFC.
Experience in Database interactions and UI Components.
Solid understanding of RDBMS and experience working with SQL/ PL/SQL/ Oracle.
Proficient in debugging, profiling, and optimizing C++ applications.
Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills:
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
Good proficiency in Modern C++ (C++11 and above).
Experience developing and maintaining native C++ applications on Windows and/or Linux (MFC, MDI, ATL, Win32).
Experience with C++ database connectivity technologies such as ADO/ADODB, ODBC, OLE DB, or equivalent frameworks.
Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
Familiarity with C#, .NET Core, and web development.
Experience in migrating, modernizing, or refactoring legacy applications.
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
Experience working in Agile environments and across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Preferred Skills
Exposure to enterprise application development and support.
Experience with REST APIs and application integration.
Knowledge of additional programming languages, frameworks, or cloud technologies.
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
