Milestone Monitoring: Track student progress through academic markers (core music completion, major declaration, time-to-degree, and graduation).
At-Risk Interventions: Identify academically at-risk students, delivering targeted coaching strategies for those receiving academic early alerts, withdrawing from courses, or returning from leaves.
Policy Guidance: Help students navigate institutional policies, degree options, and academic procedures to build personalized plans.
Programming, Outreach & Operations:
Student Success Events: Develop and execute workshops, class visits, and events supporting persistence and student identity development.
Proactive Care: Partner with campus health and wellness, academic support services, and Berklee Bridge partners to deliver comprehensive care networks.
Mentorship & Systems: Collaborate with student peer mentors and maintain advising records within predictive analytics and student information systems (SIS).
What You'll Bring
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred). 1–2 years of higher education experience with a focus on academic advising, student persistence, and learning theories.
Inclusive Advising: Demonstrated commitment to advising diverse student populations, including Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian Pacific Islander students.
Technical Savvy: Ability to learn and leverage modern student information platforms, CRM tools, and predictive analytics software.
Core Competencies: Empathy, active listening skills, adaptability, and an ethic of care required to build authentic relationships with creative students.
Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work occasional evening, weekend, or holiday hours for key campus events and advising initiatives.
Why Choose Berklee?
Empowering Creatives: Guide world-class student artists, performers, and designers as they realize their educational potential.
Career Growth: Participate in a structured departmental career ladder that recognizes and rewards exceptional performance.
Cultural Access: Enjoy nightly access to world-class music, theater, and dance performances across our campus venues.
