Director - Accounting & Reporting - Mumbai

Role Summary - We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Reporting leader to manage end-to-end finance and accounting engagements for clients. The role involves reviewing and processing transactions from a GL perspective including recording / reviewing entries for assets, liabilities, investments, borrowings, fixed assets, employee related transactions etc. The individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, delivering high-quality finance services, leading teams, leveraging technology-enabled solutions, and supporting business growth initiatives while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and senior stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
15+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, controllership, outsourced accounting, or finance transformation roles.
Proven experience managing end-to-end finance and accounting functions for corporate organizations or external clients.
Strong expertise in General Ledger (GL) accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
Experience managing large client engagements and leading high-performing teams.
Hands-on experience working with ERP platforms and financial reporting systems.
Good understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and statutory reporting requirements.
Prior experience in consulting, professional services, shared services, or managed services environments is preferred.
Preferred Skills
Strong experience managing finance and accounting operations on an end-to-end basis.
Expertise in reviewing and processing accounting transactions involving assets, liabilities, investments, borrowings, fixed assets, and employee-related transactions.
Extensive experience in bank reconciliations, customer account reconciliations, related-party reconciliations, tax accounting, investments, and borrowings.
Ability to prepare and review monthly management reports including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Budget vs. Actual Analysis, and Aging Reports.
Strong experience managing month-end and year-end closure activities within defined timelines.
Ability to own client engagements, manage service delivery, and monitor SLAs and KPIs.
Experience driving finance transformation initiatives and deploying technology-enabled solutions to improve efficiency and service quality.
Strong ERP experience covering master data management, journal entries, accounting operations, reporting, and book closure activities.
Experience preparing financial statements under Ind AS and coordinating audit activities.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across internal teams, leadership, and client organizations.
Experience supporting client acquisition, proposal development, and business growth initiatives.
