Want to Practice Law From Inside the Business?
Ag Processing Inc (AGP) is looking for an attorney who wants to build a career in-house—not simply move from one law firm to another.
As Junior In-House Attorney / Associate Corporate Counsel, you’ll work directly with business leaders and operational teams, providing practical legal guidance across commercial contracts, employment, compliance, regulatory matters, corporate governance, risk management, and business transactions.
This is a broad corporate counsel role for an attorney who enjoys understanding how a business operates, solving problems before they become legal disputes, and translating legal requirements into practical business solutions.
What You'll Do
Draft, review, interpret, and negotiate commercial contracts, including vendor, service, supply, confidentiality, consulting, and licensing agreements.
Advise business leaders on legal risks, contractual obligations, and business initiatives.
Research and provide guidance on corporate, employment, regulatory, compliance, and operational legal matters.
Partner with HR on employment-related legal issues and workplace investigations.
Assist with litigation, claims, subpoenas, and outside counsel management.
Support corporate governance, board matters, entity management, and legal compliance initiatives.
Help develop policies and processes that protect the company while enabling the business to operate effectively.
We're Looking for an Attorney Who Has
A J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active bar admission and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
0–5 years of relevant legal experience, including corporate, commercial, transactional, employment, regulatory, compliance, or in-house work.
Strong interest in developing a long-term career in corporate/in-house law.
Experience or demonstrated ability to review and analyze commercial contracts.
Excellent legal research, writing, communication, and analytical skills.
The judgment to identify risk while understanding that the goal isn't simply to say "no"—it's to help the business find a legally sound way to say "yes."
The ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to non-lawyers.
Nebraska bar admission or the ability to obtain Nebraska licensure is preferred.
This Role May Be a Great Fit If You...
Want exposure to multiple areas of business law rather than a narrowly defined practice.
Enjoy working directly with executives, managers, HR, finance, operations, and other business partners.
Want to understand the business impact of your legal advice.
Prefer being involved early—helping prevent problems rather than primarily managing disputes after they occur.
Are looking for an opportunity to grow under experienced in-house counsel.
Candidates whose experience is primarily unrelated litigation, courtroom practice, or another highly specialized area of law without meaningful exposure to corporate, transactional, employment, regulatory, or commercial matters may not be the best fit for this position.
