Experience: 5+ years
Industry: Industrial AI | Machine Vision | Automation | Hardware Product Development
About Quantic
Quantic Tech Analysis builds AI-powered quality inspection systems for industrial manufacturing. We combine computer vision, embedded computing, industrial cameras, electronics, and mechanical systems to develop reliable inspection solutions for real-world factory environments.
We are looking for a hands-on Lead Mechatronics & Hardware Design Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end hardware development, from concept and design to prototyping, testing, and production deployment.
What You’ll Do
1. Mechanical Design & Product Development
Design industrial enclosures, camera mounts, brackets, and mechanical assemblies.
Create 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and assembly designs using SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360.
Handle thermal management, airflow, vibration resistance, and mechanical reliability.
Coordinate fabrication, machining, sheet-metal work, and prototype development.
2. Electrical Design & Power Systems
Design electrical architecture for industrial inspection systems and control panels.
Perform power-budget calculations and select suitable AC/DC power supplies, wiring, connectors, and protection components.
Design 12V/24V DC distribution, grounding, fusing, and electrical interfaces.
Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
3. PCB Design & Electronics
Design and review PCB schematics and layouts using Altium, KiCad, or equivalent tools.
Select electronic components and develop circuit interfaces for cameras, sensors, lighting, fans, and embedded computing systems.
Debug PCB-level issues, power instability, electrical noise, and signal-integrity problems.
Build and validate electronic prototypes.
4. Embedded Hardware & System Integration
Integrate industrial cameras, USB 3.0 hubs, NVIDIA Jetson platforms, PCBs, lighting, and cooling systems.
Troubleshoot intermittent camera detection, USB connectivity, power fluctuations, and hardware failures.
Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment for root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with AI and software teams to ensure reliable hardware–software integration.
5. End-to-End Hardware Ownership
Own hardware development from concept through design, prototyping, validation, and production readiness.
Prepare BOMs, technical documentation, assembly instructions, and test procedures.
Coordinate with vendors, fabrication partners, technicians, and manufacturing teams.
Drive design improvements, cost optimization, reliability, and field issue resolution.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware product development, industrial automation, robotics, machine vision, or electronic equipment.
Strong practical experience in mechanical CAD and product enclosure design.
Working knowledge of electrical design, AC/DC power distribution, and power calculations.
Hands-on experience with PCB schematic design, PCB layout, and electronics debugging.
Experience with prototype assembly, hardware testing, and troubleshooting.
Ability to independently take a hardware product from concept to a working prototype.
Good to Have
Experience with industrial machine vision systems and industrial cameras.
Familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson or other embedded computing platforms.
Experience with USB 3.0 connectivity, high-speed interfaces, and signal integrity.
Knowledge of DFM/DFA, thermal design, EMC/EMI, and industrial safety.
Experience taking prototypes into manufacturing and field deployment.
Who Should Apply?
We are looking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working across mechanical, electrical, and electronics disciplines—not someone restricted to a single design function.
You should be comfortable designing components, building prototypes, diagnosing hardware failures, working with vendors, and taking complete responsibility for hardware performance.
