The Role
We are seeking an experienced Barista Trainer / Coffee Specialist to deliver engaging training in coffee preparation, espresso techniques, beverage quality, and customer service. In this part-time, fully remote role, you will help aspiring and experienced baristas strengthen their technical knowledge, improve consistency, and understand professional coffee standards.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on coffee expertise with a passion for teaching and the ability to translate practical experience into clear, structured learning. Training may be delivered through virtual demonstrations, guided learning materials, video tutorials, and interactive coaching sessions.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver online training covering espresso preparation, grinder calibration, milk steaming, and beverage presentation.
Explain coffee bean varieties, roast profiles, extraction variables, and brewing methods.
Teach beverage recipes, preparation standards, workflow efficiency, and equipment care.
Develop training guides, recipe sheets, demonstrations, and practical assessment materials.
Coach learners on consistency, troubleshooting, hygiene, and safe handling of coffee equipment.
Share knowledge of specialty coffee, sensory evaluation, flavor profiles, and quality control.
Explain customer service standards, menu knowledge, and effective communication in hospitality settings.
Monitor learner progress and update training content in line with industry practices.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification is preferred; relevant professional experience is also valued.
At least 3 years of experience in barista work, specialty coffee, café operations, hospitality training, or a related field is preferred.
Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, coffee brewing, milk texturing, and beverage preparation.
Familiarity with coffee equipment, maintenance routines, hygiene standards, and quality control.
Excellent communication, demonstration, coaching, and presentation skills.
Experience training baristas or developing hospitality learning materials is an advantage.
Passion for coffee quality, customer experience, and continuous professional development.
Ability to deliver engaging virtual training and work independently in a remote environment.
