Role Description The Senior Design Engineer will lead the design and development of BIW fixtures, robotic simulation layouts, and special purpose machines for automotive and manufacturing applications. This full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru involves translating customer requirements into detailed engineering concepts, preparing 3D models and 2D drawings, and validating designs for manufacturability and performance. The Senior Design Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, guide junior engineers, and coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of projects. Daily responsibilities include design reviews, design optimization for cost and reliability, documentation of engineering changes, and technical support during installation and commissioning. The role also requires continuous improvement of design standards and active participation in client discussions and technical presentations.
Qualifications
Strong Design Engineering skills with proven experience in fixture design, special purpose machines, or related industrial equipment.
Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering, including mechanics, materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerance analysis.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (such as CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or similar) for 3D modeling and detailed drafting.
Working knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to automated systems and machinery integration.
Experience in Product Design, including concept development, prototyping, and design validation for industrial applications.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience in BIW fixtures, robotic simulation, or SPM design within automotive or heavy manufacturing environments is highly beneficial.
Ability to interpret customer specifications, industry standards, and ISO quality requirements, with strong problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members and manage multiple projects.
Willingness to work on-site in Bengaluru and support shop-floor activities, trials, and design modifications as needed.
