Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Software Engineer. The Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power Duva’s digital products and user experiences. Responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable code, reviewing code from other engineers, and ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. The role involves collaborating closely with product, design, and marketing teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, as well as integrating third-party services and data sources. The Senior Software Engineer will also contribute to architectural decisions, mentor other engineers, and support continuous improvement of development processes and tooling.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles.
Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience delivering production-quality applications and services.
Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including building and maintaining APIs and working with databases.
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and applying OOP concepts to design robust, modular systems.
Experience with modern backend languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or similar) and RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
Comfort with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with security best practices, performance optimization, and monitoring/observability tools.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team environment, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
Prior experience in consumer tech, fitness, healthcare, or lifestyle products is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
