About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our growing team. This is a client-facing leadership role focused on overseeing the preparation, review, and delivery of accurate financials for external clients while supporting and developing a team of accountants.
The ideal candidate combines strong US GAAP and full-cycle accounting knowledge with hands-on team leadership. We’re looking for someone who has worked with complex and/or large clients, preferably within an accounting or professional services firm, and who can confidently step in when the team needs guidance.
Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who is resourceful, proactive, and solutions-oriented—someone who takes initiative, investigates issues, finds answers, and helps move both client work and the team forward.
What You'll Do
Oversee the preparation, review, and finalization of financial statements and accounting deliverables for multiple external clients, including complex and large client engagements.
Apply strong knowledge of US GAAP and research technical accounting matters to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and accurate, compliant, and tax-ready financials.
Review general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other full-cycle accounting activities.
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring client deliverables are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
Serve as a key point of contact for clients, regularly leading client meetings and discussions via video calls, explaining financial results, resolving discrepancies, and managing accounting-related questions and expectations.
Manage multiple client engagements, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining consistent quality and service standards.
Supervise, coach, and support a team of accountants, reviewing their work and providing hands-on guidance on technical accounting matters, client concerns, and deliverables.
Proactively identify and resolve accounting and operational issues, using available resources and collaborating with appropriate stakeholders when needed.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, documentation, and quality controls.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong accounting experience supporting US-based clients, preferably within an accounting, CPA, outsourced accounting, or professional services firm.
At least 3 years of supervisory, team lead, or people management experience within an accounting environment.
Strong client-facing experience, with the confidence to lead discussions, explain financial information, investigate issues, and manage client expectations.
Experience managing or supporting complex and/or large client accounts with multiple accounting requirements, stakeholders, entities, or deliverables.
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
Exposure to technical accounting matters; experience with topics such as ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting) is preferred.
Government Contracting (GovCon) accounting experience is a plus.
Experience with ERP and accounting systems; familiarity with QuickBooks and platforms such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to research, investigate, and resolve accounting issues independently.
A resourceful and proactive mindset—comfortable taking initiative, finding answers, and determining the next best step without needing constant direction.
Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to helping team members overcome challenges and successfully complete client deliverables.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
