Lawyers On Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, is seeking a Louisiana-licensed Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney for an exciting opportunity supporting a premier national litigation firm with a sophisticated insurance defense practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator who enjoys substantive, associate-level litigation work but is looking for greater flexibility and a more predictable schedule without the demands of traditional law firm practice.
Working 100% remotely, the selected attorney will collaborate with established litigation teams, providing substantive support on active insurance defense matters, with a particular emphasis on discovery, case analysis, and trial preparation. The role offers meaningful involvement in complex litigation while maintaining a schedule of no more than 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.
Support litigation teams with case development, discovery management, and trial preparation.
Review and analyze medical records, identify relevant issues, and prepare case summaries.
Conduct legal research, identify potential legal and factual issues, and provide detailed case assessments and strategic recommendations.
Assist with witness preparation, including preparing witnesses for depositions.
Collaborate remotely with attorneys on litigation strategy, case management, and preparation for upcoming proceedings.
Qualifications
Active Louisiana law license required, with prior experience practicing litigation in Louisiana.
Substantive insurance defense litigation experience, preferably within a law firm environment.
Experience handling litigation matters from inception through discovery, including drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
Strong legal research, analytical, and written advocacy skills.
Experience reviewing medical records and preparing witnesses for depositions.
Ability to work independently and efficiently while collaborating with a remote litigation team.
Assignment Details
Location: 100% Remote
Schedule: Flexible, with hours based on litigation needs and capped at 40 hours per week
Compensation: $80–$90 per hour, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
