Join WW Technic, where engineering expertise meets purpose.
Do you know 2-stroke marine engines inside out, from the crankshaft to the exhaust valve?
Do you enjoy finding the root cause of a problem and bringing a vessel back to full performance?
At WW Technic, you will be part of a team that combines engineering mastery with the mission of making industries more efficient, reliable and sustainable.
About WW Technic
WW Technic is an engineering services company providing technical expertise in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, oil & gas, and the power & heat sectors. Since 2013, we have been supporting global clients in pre-commissioning, commissioning, supervision, service and project management, helping them launch and maintain critical systems that power the future of clean and responsible industry.
Our work goes beyond technology. It’s about trust, precision and partnership.
We operate where safety, innovation and environmental responsibility meet, implementing advanced solutions that help shape the next generation of green shipping and energy systems.
About The Role
As a Service Engineer / Service Superintendent, you will take care of the large 2-stroke diesel engines that power sea-going vessels around the world. When an engine needs an inspection, a repair or a modification, or a difficult technical question needs a clear answer, the crew and the client will turn to you.
You will work on both conventional and electronically controlled engines. You will also take part in modifications that help vessels meet today’s efficiency and emission requirements.
You Will
Carry out engine inspections, including scavenge port inspections, measurements and condition assessments
Perform and supervise overhauls of key components, such as pistons, cylinder liners, exhaust valves, fuel injection equipment and bearings
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electronic control system faults and identify their root causes
Analyze engine performance and fine-tune engine parameters
Handle warranty cases and support damage investigations
Implement engine modifications and upgrades, such as Engine Power Limitation (EPL), control system upgrades or dual-fuel retrofits
Plan service jobs, including scope, time schedule, spare parts, tools and risk assessments
Coordinate work on site with ship crews, ship owners, class surveyors, shipyards and subcontractors
Prepare clear service reports, findings and recommendations after each assignment
Working environment
Our service engineers work worldwide, on board sea-going vessels, in ports and at repair yards. Assignments usually last 2 weeks, adding up to around 6-7 months per year on-site. Service work sometimes comes at short notice, so flexibility is part of the job. Between assignments, you remain on stand-by at home, fully paid and supported, with time to rest, prepare and stay close to your family & friends.
Every assignment connects you with project teams that provide guidance, technical expertise and real-time support. You will never be left alone, even when the engine room presents its toughest challenges.
At WW Technic, knowledge is shared, not owned. Our engineers support each other, ensuring continuous improvement and safety across every project.
What We Expect
University degree (Technical University or Maritime Academy) in marine propulsion systems, marine or mechanical engineering
Hands-on experience in repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of 2-stroke diesel engines, gained in service or on board (experience with large 4-stroke engines will also be considered)
Good understanding of ship propulsion systems and daily vessel operations
Ability to read and work with engine manuals, technical drawings and system diagrams
Readiness to travel worldwide for 2 weeks assignments, 6-7 months per year in total
Good command of English, spoken and written, general and technical
It Will Be An Advantage If You Have
Sea-going experience as a marine engineer (e.g. 2nd Engineer)
Experience with electronically controlled engines
Experience with dual-fuel engines or emission and efficiency retrofits
Experience in supervising repair teams or coordinating dry dock work
We Will Also Value
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A goal-oriented, self-driven and result-focused attitude
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Entrepreneurial mindset and good organizational skills
What We Offer
Stable, long-term cooperation based on a full-time employment contract
Competitive salary and a broad benefits package: private medical care, life and travel insurance, sports card, vacation grant and access to an employee benefit platform
Work-life rhythm that respects your time, with paid stand-by periods between assignments
Challenging tasks on a wide variety of vessels and engine types
Continuous professional development through technical training and mentoring, and real opportunities for promotion
A friendly team culture built on trust, expertise and collaboration, where your work matters and your knowledge grows
