Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Founder Software Engineer at DBByte. The role involves designing and building core platform services for object storage and global content delivery, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing production-quality code, designing system architectures, implementing APIs, and optimizing data flows and infrastructure. The Founder Software Engineer collaborates on product direction, defines technical standards, contributes to DevOps and deployment practices, and helps establish engineering culture and processes. This position also includes troubleshooting complex issues in distributed systems, improving observability and resilience, and working closely with founders and early customers to shape the
roadmap.
Qualifications
Strong backend engineering skills, including experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, or similar) and building high-performance services.
Experience with distributed systems, data infrastructure, and concepts such as object storage, caching, content delivery, and scalability.
Knowledge of cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools, plus familiarity with CI/CD, containerization, and automated testing.
Ability to design and work with APIs, microservices architectures, and robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
Comfort working in an early-stage environment, including ownership of technical decisions, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills, with a focus on secure, reliable, and maintainable code.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; startup or founder-team experience is a plus.
