Commercial Growth Mandate
The Vice President, Product Planning & Revenue Growth will lead initiatives that connect product development, commercial partnerships, customer demand, and revenue generation. This executive will identify opportunities to increase product value, expand distribution, strengthen commercial relationships, and establish scalable revenue streams.
The role is designed for a leader who can bridge product and commercial teams, translate market opportunities into executable business plans, and build relationships that accelerate growth. Success requires more than maintaining a product roadmap: it requires developing a clear commercial path from product concept to market adoption and measurable business results.
1. Revenue Opportunities & Commercial Pipeline
Identify new revenue opportunities across existing products, prospective offerings, customer segments, and distribution channels.
Develop a commercial pipeline of product-led growth initiatives, prioritizing opportunities according to market demand, revenue potential, strategic fit, and implementation requirements.
Establish relationships with strategic customers, distribution partners, technology providers, and other organizations that can expand product reach.
Lead commercial discussions involving joint offerings, distribution arrangements, product integrations, and collaborative growth initiatives.
Work with Sales and Business Development to convert product capabilities into qualified opportunities, commercial proposals, and revenue-generating agreements.
Evaluate cross-selling, upselling, bundled offerings, and complementary services that can increase customer value and revenue per account.
Develop engagement strategies for high-value commercial relationships and oversee progress from initial discussions through launch and ongoing development.
2. Product Planning Through Market Collaboration
Gather customer, partner, and sales feedback to identify product requirements and unmet market needs.
Translate commercial opportunities into product priorities, development requirements, and launch recommendations.
Coordinate with Product and Technology teams to evaluate feasibility, delivery timelines, integration requirements, and resource needs.
Develop product plans that reflect market demand, commercial commitments, competitive differentiation, and organizational capabilities.
Establish processes for incorporating feedback from strategic accounts and distribution partners into future product development.
Assess opportunities to adapt existing products for new customer segments, industries, or geographic markets.
Maintain alignment between product roadmaps, commercial commitments, and realistic delivery capacity.
3. Strategic Partnerships & Market Development
Build a network of strategic relationships that supports product distribution, customer acquisition, and market expansion.
Evaluate prospective partners based on commercial reach, customer access, technical capabilities, strategic alignment, and potential economic value.
Develop partnership proposals, joint business cases, commercial models, and implementation plans.
Coordinate negotiations with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Finance, Product, and Operations.
Establish clear objectives, responsibilities, launch milestones, and performance expectations for commercial partnerships.
Monitor partner performance and identify opportunities to expand successful relationships or address underperforming arrangements.
Represent the organization in senior-level partner meetings, commercial negotiations, industry events, and strategic planning discussions.
4. Commercial Planning & Financial Accountability
The VP will work with executive leadership and Finance to establish a disciplined approach to product-related revenue planning.
Responsibilities include:
Develop revenue forecasts and growth scenarios for priority products and commercial initiatives.
Evaluate pricing structures, customer economics, distribution costs, and expected contribution margins.
Prepare business cases for product investments, partnership opportunities, and market expansion programs.
Recommend resource allocation based on commercial potential, strategic importance, and execution risk.
Monitor actual results against forecasts and identify the causes of material performance gaps.
Establish reporting processes for revenue pipeline, product adoption, commercial conversion, and partnership performance.
Present clear recommendations to leadership on investment priorities, emerging opportunities, and corrective actions.
5. Executive Deliverables
The successful candidate will establish a repeatable commercial planning process that produces tangible business outcomes.
Expected deliverables include:
A prioritized product and revenue growth roadmap.
A qualified pipeline of commercial opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Product-specific commercialization plans with defined owners, milestones, and targets.
Revenue forecasts and business cases supporting major product decisions.
A framework for evaluating partnership economics and commercial performance.
Regular executive reviews covering revenue progress, market opportunities, execution risks, and resource requirements.
A scalable process for coordinating product planning with sales and business development activities.
Leadership Background
Candidates should bring substantial experience in commercial leadership, product planning, and revenue development, with the judgment to balance long-term product value against near-term business priorities.
Required qualifications:
20+ years of progressive experience in product planning, commercial strategy, business development, strategic partnerships, revenue management, or related disciplines.
Significant executive-level experience leading commercial initiatives, product growth programs, strategic accounts, or partnership-driven business development.
Demonstrated success developing commercial opportunities and converting them into measurable business results.
Strong understanding of product commercialization, revenue models, pricing, distribution strategies, and go-to-market execution.
Experience negotiating strategic agreements and developing relationships with senior executives and external decision-makers.
Ability to evaluate business cases, revenue forecasts, commercial economics, and investment requirements.
Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive initiatives without relying exclusively on direct reporting authority.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, analytical, and executive communication skills.
Experience establishing commercial KPIs, pipeline reporting, and performance review processes.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Management, or a related field required; an MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is preferred.
Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, cryptocurrency, digital assets, trading, SaaS, or technology is advantageous. Experience in other complex, product-driven commercial environments is also relevant.
Leadership Success Measures
Performance will be evaluated based on the executive's ability to:
Generate measurable revenue from product-related initiatives.
Build a healthy pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities.
Establish productive partnerships that expand distribution or customer access.
Improve coordination between product development and commercial execution.
Deliver reliable forecasts and sound investment recommendations.
Increase adoption and commercial performance of priority products.
Create repeatable processes that support sustainable revenue growth.
Location, Compensation & Benefits
The position is based in the United States, with remote, hybrid, or on-site arrangements determined by business needs and the selected candidate's location. Travel may be required for partner negotiations, customer meetings, industry conferences, and strategic planning.
The compensation package may include a competitive executive base salary, annual performance-based incentive, equity appreciation opportunities, 401(k) retirement benefits, medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, company holidays, professional development, and reimbursement for approved business travel.
Final compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and the scope of responsibilities.
