Hiring: Civil Site Engineer – Railway Infrastructure Project

About the Role
We are looking for a technically competent and result-oriented Civil Site Engineer to join our railway infrastructure project at Irumpanam, Kerala. The candidate will be responsible for supervising site execution, ensuring quality and safety standards, monitoring work progress, maintaining project documentation, and coordinating with railway officials, consultants, subcontractors, and material suppliers.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience in civil construction and the ability to manage site activities independently while maintaining compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and Indian Railways requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and execute civil construction activities in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
* Manage reinforced cement concrete (RCC), plain cement concrete (PCC), concrete pavement (CC), reinforcement steel, excavation, earthwork, and structural works.
* Coordinate dismantling and reconstruction of catwalks, permanent way (P.Way) activities, and associated railway infrastructure works.
* Monitor daily labour deployment, machinery utilisation, material consumption, and work productivity.
* Prepare and maintain measurement books (MBs), quantity statements, daily progress reports (DPRs), and records required for running account (RA) bills.
* Maintain site registers, including cement, steel, cube testing, excavation, attendance, and hindrance registers.
* Coordinate concrete sampling, cube testing, material inspections, soil testing, and other required quality-control procedures.
* Ensure proper reinforcement inspection, shuttering checks, concrete placement, curing, and quality documentation.
* Identify site hindrances, drawing discrepancies, pending approvals, and work-front constraints; report them promptly with supporting records.
* Coordinate with railway engineering officials for site inspections, measurements, approvals, work permissions, and execution requirements.
* Monitor construction progress against planned targets and proactively resolve execution-related issues.
* Ensure compliance with site safety requirements, railway working protocols, and applicable technical specifications.
* Maintain accurate records of materials received, consumed, and balance quantities at the site.
Eligibility Criteria
* Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering.
* Relevant experience in civil construction, infrastructure projects, or railway works.
* Working knowledge of RCC, PCC, CC pavement, reinforcement detailing, quantity estimation, and construction measurements.
* Familiarity with BOQs, technical specifications, RA billing, and site documentation.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and coordinate with project stakeholders.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and basic project reporting tools.
* Strong site-management, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
Preferred: Experience in Indian Railways projects, railway yards, P.Way-related civil works, government infrastructure contracts, or construction projects involving formal inspection and billing procedures.
