About Hussh
Hussh is two businesses with one mission: make information — especially private personal information — a real financial asset for the human it belongs to, with the human in control of every machine, always.
The technology company builds private personal AI: Private Agent One (a personal agent that works only for its human, on consent), iMoney (the money app — investing rebuilt with the human approving every move), the puppy home supercomputer, and the store and marketplace technology our field teams are now deploying across four states. The asset-management company runs permanent capital on one doctrine — own the world's fastest growers of absolute free cash flow.
We are 100% privately owned and profitable — founder-funded, no outside investors, no one to answer to but our customers. And we hire the best and pay the best. That is not a slogan. It is the whole strategy: a small team of extraordinary people, paid like it, building things that have never existed.
The role
Mission: decide what the future of this platform is — and be right.
Every company is a set of bets. Yours are the technology bets: which systems we build, which we buy, which we build with partners — and which we refuse to touch, and why. Private Agent One, iMoney, the puppy, the Hussh Shop, the agent marketplace: today they are products. Under your thesis they become one platform — personal information, owned by the human, working only with consent, everywhere the human goes.
Here is the honest shape of the job. The Chief Engineer owns how our systems are built right. You own *which systems are worth building at all*. You pick the mountain. You write the three-year technology thesis — the bets, the anti-bets, the build/buy/partner calls — and you defend it with reasoning anyone can check. Then you take it to the world: to Meta, NVIDIA, Google, and Apple as a peer, to the research community as a voice, and to the best engineers alive as the reason their hardest problems should live here.
What you'll do
- Write the technology thesis: the 3-year bets for the platform — compute, models, hardware, protocols, consent infrastructure — the anti-bets beside them, and the falsifiable conditions on each.
- Make the build/buy/partner calls on deep technology, with the math shown. One hard call early matters more than ten easy ones.
- Build the technical partner map into reality: the labs, the platforms, the compute providers — every relationship with a technical owner and a technical reason, producing access and joint engineering, not meetings.
- Be the company's technical voice: the person partners, researchers, and world-class engineers believe — because you are candid about what exists, what doesn't, and what is coming.
- Hold the long view in a short-war company: the thesis steers the roadmap without hijacking it. When research invalidates a bet, you update first and fastest. Your credibility is your update speed, not your first guess.
What success looks like in 6 months
- The thesis is written, debated, and believed — and roadmap decisions visibly trace to it. The company can say no to distractions by pointing at it.
- At least one hard build/buy/partner call has been made and closed, with the math on record.
- The partnership pipeline is producing: compute access, model access, joint engineering — real artifacts, not relationships theater.
- Candidates cite the thesis in interviews. Talent is arriving because of where you say we're going.
What you bring — musts
- You have set technical direction for systems operating at real scale — you decided the stack, the bets, the partnerships, and you lived with the consequences for years.
- You have held a thesis for years that turned out right — and one that turned out wrong, with the postmortem. Both. We will ask about both.
- You can debate architecture on substance with a world-class chief engineer — and lose gracefully when the numbers say so.
- Partners-first instinct: your default with Meta, NVIDIA, Google, and Apple is "how do we win together," never competitive posturing.
Nice to have
- A public technical voice — writing, talks, papers — that serious engineers already respect.
- Deep-tech diligence experience: acquisitions, hardware programs, model or compute partnerships evaluated from first principles.
- Hardware *and* software range: you think as clearly about a supercomputer in a customer's home as about the protocol that connects it.
What we offer
$200,000–$280,000 base with a 15–25% target bonus, and a founding equity grant on a 4-year vest. We are privately owned and profitable, so the equity is ownership in something real — and we pay the best because we only hire the best. The thesis has a commercial spine: we distribute distributor-first — the Shops, the marketplace, the channels that carry personal superintelligence to everybody — and every bet must create value, deliver value, and turn that value into shareholder equity for everyone who works with us, invests with us, or does business with us. Brand, culture, and values weigh as much as the technology in every call you make. Your cell is small by design (~3–5): your leverage is the thesis, not the org chart.
