Position: PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts – Bengali
Type: Contract
Compensation: $10–$11/hour
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities
Evaluate and confirm the legibility and content of provided Bengali PDF pages. Ensure no personal details are present.
Annotate structure by identifying and bounding every meaningful region. Assign component types and reading-order indexes.
Record relationships by linking regions to their parent components such as figures or tables.
Transcribe text faithfully in Bengali script, including handwritten content. Flag any illegible regions.
Capture page metadata including language, document type, source, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.
Review a colleague's work as an experienced annotator, ensuring quality and accuracy.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Native Bengali speaker with full command of the script.
Experience with document-related work such as annotation, transcription, or translation.
High attention to detail with character-level accuracy.
Systematic approach to applying taxonomies across multiple pages.
Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.
Preferred
Experience in regional-language AI data annotation and labeling.
Skills in transcription and localization, including MTPE and OCR correction.
Background in document production such as typesetting and proofreading.
Knowledge of script and encoding, including Unicode normalization.
