Position: PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts – Odiya
Type: Contract
Compensation: $10–$11/hour
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities
Evaluate and confirm the legibility and content of provided Odiya pages before annotation.
Annotate structure by identifying and bounding every meaningful region, assigning component types and reading-order indices.
Record relationships by linking regions to their parent components like figures or tables.
Transcribe text faithfully in Odiya script, including handwritten content, and flag illegible regions.
Capture page metadata including language, document type, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.
Review and provide feedback on a colleague's work to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Native fluency in Odiya with full command of the script.
Experience in annotation, transcription, translation, localization, or proofreading.
High attention to detail with character-level accuracy.
Systematic approach to applying taxonomy across documents.
Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.
Preferred
Experience in regional-language AI data annotation or bilingual evaluation.
Skills in transcription, localization, or OCR correction.
Background in document production such as typesetting or proofreading.
Knowledge of script and encoding, including Unicode normalization.
