Senior Engineer – Hardware Circuit Design
Full-time | On-site | Bengaluru, India | Hardware Engineering
Company Description
1Finity is a fully owned subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited, a global ICT company. 1Finity (established in Japan, America, and India) is a technology company focused on advanced networking and communications solutions. The organization develops innovative platforms that help service providers and enterprises improve connectivity, performance, and reliability. As part of a global technology group, 1Finity offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge hardware and software in a collaborative environment. Team members contribute to products that support modern network infrastructure and evolving digital demands.
Role Description
1Finity India is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Senior Engineer – Hardware Circuit Design to join its growing Hardware Engineering team in Bengaluru. The role is responsible for end-to-end electronic circuit design and hardware architecture activities for next-generation optical networking, telecommunications, and high-performance networking products. The engineer will design, develop, review, and optimize hardware circuits; perform simulations and engineering analyses; oversee PCB design activities; and collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance requirements.
The position requires expert-level circuit design capability across schematic capture, component selection, power architecture, high-speed digital interfaces, design verification, and engineering documentation. The engineer will support the complete product development lifecycle, including design reviews, prototype bring-up, debugging, hardware validation, production release, and continuous improvement of hardware design processes and standards. The role works closely with engineering teams in India, Japan, and other locations using the Siemens EDA design environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Own complete hardware circuit design activities from concept through production release.
• Define system-level hardware requirements, architectures, interfaces, and design specifications for complex communication systems.
• Develop and maintain complex schematics using Siemens EDA tools, including Xpedition Designer.
• Design high-speed digital circuits, processor-based platforms, FPGA and ASIC interfaces, memory subsystems, power supplies, power distribution networks, and control circuitry.
• Perform detailed component evaluation, selection, qualification, and lifecycle assessment.
• Conduct engineering calculations, circuit simulations, and design analyses to validate performance and design margins.
• Support signal integrity, power integrity, and timing-budget analysis, including EMI/EMC and applicable industry-standard considerations.
• Drive hardware design reviews, document findings, and close review comments.
• Collaborate with PCB design engineers to achieve robust, manufacturable, and testable designs.
• Generate and maintain design documentation, bills of materials, design specifications, and engineering change documentation.
• Support prototype and production builds, hardware bring-up, debugging, design verification, validation, and root-cause analysis.
• Interface with manufacturing, test engineering, quality, component engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
• Participate in global engineering reviews and technical discussions with international teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of hardware design processes, standards, and team capability.
Required QualificationsEducation
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
Experience
• 6 to 8 years of experience in hardware circuit design.
• Proven ability to perform hardware development and design activities for complex communication systems.
• Demonstrated experience across the complete product development lifecycle, from concept through validation and production release.
• Experience in telecom, networking, data-center systems, embedded systems, industrial electronics, or similar domains; networking or telecommunications experience is preferred.
Mandatory Technical Skills
• Expert-level electronics hardware and circuit design capability for high-speed, reliable, and efficient products.
• Strong schematic-capture experience using Siemens EDA tools; proficiency in PCB layout review and circuit simulation.
• Hardware architecture experience, including definition of system requirements and design specifications.
• High-speed digital circuit design and power supply or power-distribution design.
• Processor, FPGA, ASIC, and memory-interface design.
• Solid understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, timing, and standards relevant to networking hardware.
• Hands-on experience with DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes, I2C, SPI, UART, and JTAG interfaces.
• Component selection, qualification, and BOM management.
• Hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, debugging, root-cause analysis, design verification, and validation.
• Engineering documentation and change-management practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with optical networking and telecommunications hardware.
• Familiarity with PLM and engineering data-management systems.
• Exposure to manufacturing release processes and design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test concepts.
Desired Competencies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently drive design tasks with ownership and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary, global cross-functional teams.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability building.
