Role Description
The Electrical Engineer / Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting electrical engineering activities, maintaining technical standards, and ensuring that products, systems, and project deliverables meet established quality requirements. This combined role involves electrical design coordination, technical evaluation, quality assurance, inspection, testing, and continuous improvement to support reliable and efficient engineering operations.
Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing electrical designs, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, circuit layouts, equipment specifications, and related engineering documentation. The role involves evaluating electrical components and systems, coordinating technical requirements, and ensuring that designs comply with applicable engineering standards, safety guidelines, and project specifications. The engineer also supports the selection of suitable materials and equipment based on performance, reliability, and operational requirements.
The Quality Engineer function focuses on establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality control procedures throughout engineering and production processes. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, reviewing test results, evaluating technical documentation, identifying non-conformities, and coordinating corrective and preventive actions. The role also involves monitoring quality indicators, analyzing recurring issues, and supporting investigations to determine the root causes of defects or system failures.
The position requires collaboration with engineering teams, production personnel, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain consistent quality standards. The engineer reviews inspection records, testing reports, equipment specifications, and compliance documentation to verify that products and systems meet defined acceptance criteria. Additional duties may include supporting internal audits, supplier assessments, equipment testing, commissioning activities, and quality-related project reviews.
The Electrical Engineer / Quality Engineer also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance electrical system performance, reduce defects, improve testing procedures, and optimize engineering workflows. The role requires accurate recordkeeping, systematic problem-solving, and clear communication when documenting findings, recommending improvements, and reporting technical or quality concerns.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Understanding of electrical systems, circuit principles, electrical components, and engineering design practices.
Knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, inspection methods, and testing procedures.
Familiarity with applicable electrical standards, safety requirements, and quality management principles.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, test reports, and engineering documentation.
Understanding of non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
Proficiency in relevant engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical, mathematical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail when reviewing technical designs, inspection records, and quality documentation.
Effective communication and coordination skills when working with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to prepare clear technical reports, maintain accurate records, and present findings professionally.
