About the role
We're looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our Mobile Engineering team and help us build world-class streaming experiences used by millions of sports fans worldwide.
You will work on a large-scale Android application, collaborating closely with engineers, QA, product managers, designers, and backend teams to deliver high-quality features and continuously improve app performance, reliability, and user experience.
Experience in video streaming, media playback, or connected devices is highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
What you'll do
Design and develop Android applications using modern Android technologies and best practices.
Build scalable, maintainable, and well-tested solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver new features.
Drive technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
Review code and mentor other engineers.
Investigate and resolve performance, stability, and reliability issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, tooling, and development processes.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Must have
5+ years of professional Android development experience.
Strong knowledge of Kotlin.
Experience with Coroutines and asynchronous programming.
Strong understanding of Android architectural patterns including MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture.
Experience with Jetpack libraries and modern Android development practices.
Hands-on experience with ExoPlayer and/or Media3.
Experience working with multi-module Android projects.
Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger and Hilt.
Solid understanding of mobile application design patterns and software engineering principles.
Experience working with REST APIs.
Knowledge of testing practices and CI/CD workflows.
Experience with code reviews and collaborative software development.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work in an international environment.
Nice to have
Experience with video streaming technologies.
Knowledge of DRM solutions (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay).
Experience with live streaming or OTT platforms.
Experience with Chromecast / Google Cast.
Understanding of video analytics and monitoring solutions.
Experience with feature flag solutions (e.g. Firebase Remote Config).
Experience working at scale with applications serving millions of users.
Experience with RxJava.
