About JARK Technologies
JARK Technologies builds AI and IoT products. We are a small, senior team, and you will have direct access to our founders and our CTO.
What we are building:
We are building a physician-led AI wellness companion. Members talk to an AI companion about their health goals, move through a guided onboarding and a personal journey, and are matched with partner clinics for consultations and follow-up. The platform has a member mobile app, a web portal for partner clinics, and the AI chat and integration services behind them. We are taking it from a validated prototype to a production launch in a HIPAA-regulated setting.
The role:
You will build the product's member app and the Python services behind it, end to end: onboarding and sign-in, profile, journey and appointment booking, from the screen to the database, to production quality on iOS and Android.
What you will own:
App, onboarding: sign-in, OTP entry with autofill, consent flows, account deletion and permission prompts (notifications, location, Apple Health or Health Connect), with every state built: loading, empty, error and offline.
App, chat and journey: the chat interface (streaming replies, message states, quick-reply chips, rich cards, conversation history and resume), plus the journey timeline, profile, goals, care team and connected devices.
App, booking: slot picker, review, confirmation, cancel and reschedule, and add to calendar.
App, release engineering: Expo builds, TestFlight and Play internal testing, store submissions with privacy labels and data-safety forms, staged rollouts and feature flags, crash monitoring and analytics events.
Backend, identity and access: OTP login, session and token lifecycle, authorization on every endpoint, account recovery and account deletion.
Backend, data: PostgreSQL schemas and migrations for members, onboarding state, profile, journey events, consent records, appointments and notifications, with encryption and audit logging for sensitive actions.
Backend, booking and integrations: scheduling services and connectors to partner clinic systems, with idempotent workflows, webhooks with a polling fallback, and rate-limit handling.
Quality: unit, integration and end-to-end tests, CI gates, documented APIs, and close work with the QA engineer and the designers.
Clinic portal: React screens and API support as the portal moves to production.
What we are looking for:
3+ years of engineering, including 2+ years in React Native with TypeScript and 2+ years building Python backends (not scripting).
Apps shipped to both the App Store and Google Play, with Expo and native modules, navigation, state management and data fetching.
Network resilience: streaming (server-sent events or WebSockets), retries and offline queues.
Authentication and authorization design: sessions, tokens, OAuth2 or JWT, and safe handling of secrets and personal data.
Solid PostgreSQL design and migration experience.
Workflows that are idempotent and safe to retry, such as bookings and payments.
Accessibility basics: Dynamic Type, VoiceOver and TalkBack.
A habit of testing at several levels and shipping behind CI.
Nice to have
HealthKit, Health Connect and wearable SDKs.
Health or other regulated data, HIPAA awareness, and store privacy requirements.
React on the web, and building or maintaining a design system.
Third-party scheduling, EMR or payment API integrations, with FHIR or HL7 a plus.
SMS and OTP providers.
Animation with Reanimated, Lottie or Skia.
How we work
Weekly sprints, architecture set with the CTO, designs approved before build, small pull requests with review, demos of the real build, and a QA engineer working beside you from the first week.
What success looks like
Onboarding that works end to end on every supported device, from OTP to the first conversation, with every state handled.
Authentication and data handling that pass an external security review.
A predictable release cadence to TestFlight and Play internal testing.
