Business Development Manager - Environmental Services
Are you interested in driving business growth and securing new opportunities? This could be your opportunity to excel as a Business Development Manager, playing a vital role in supporting SOCOTEC's continued success and expanding its environmental and occupational services offering across Ireland.
As SOCOTEC continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Business Development Manager to lead the development of our environmental and occupational services offering. This includes Occupational Hygiene, Water Hygiene, Asbestos, Noise Monitoring and Environmental Consultancy, complementing the company’s established Stack Emissions service based in Naas, Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new markets, developing customer relationships and creating new commercial opportunities across these service lines.
The role will focus on securing profitable new contracts and ad hoc work to achieve annual sales targets through proactive business development, building strong relationships with both new and existing customers, leading competitive tender submissions and maximising reactive sales opportunities. You will work closely with Operations Managers, Directors and the wider sales team to identify and secure larger SOCOTEC-wide opportunities, while collaborating with the existing Stack Emissions team in Naas to maximise cross-selling opportunities and provide customers with a comprehensive, joined-up service offering.
Through a strong commercial focus and close collaboration across the business, you will help establish and expand SOCOTEC’s environmental and occupational services proposition in Ireland, supporting the delivery of sustainable, long-term growth.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
Maintain and develop a wide network of contacts and build effective relationships within the environmental services marketplace through which you will generate opportunities for new business across Occupational Hygiene, Water Hygiene, Asbestos, Noise Monitoring and Environmental Consultancy.
Proactively prospect new clients and promote SOCOTEC's environmental services to generate leads and opportunities. Introduce and promote wider SOCOTEC services, including the established Stack Emissions service based in Naas.
Deliver specific growth targets for each new service line (Occupational Hygiene, Water Hygiene, Asbestos Services, Noise Monitoring and Environmental Consultancy), tracking performance against agreed sales and margin objectives.
Build and manage client relationships across these service lines, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
Support the production and delivery of quotation documentation and sales presentations tailored to Occupational Hygiene, Water Hygiene, Asbestos, Noise Monitoring and Environmental Consultancy clients.
Contribute to all aspects of the strategic sales process including awareness campaigns, presentations, exhibitions and sales collateral for the new environmental service lines.
Work closely with the Operations team and the existing Stack Emissions team in Naas to identify new service stream opportunities, potential client sectors and cross-selling synergies, and actively target these.
Maintain a strong knowledge of market trends including client and competitor activity and industry innovations across occupational hygiene, water hygiene, asbestos, noise monitoring and environmental consultancy.
Actively contribute towards the successful delivery of the Division's business plan and growth targets for the new environmental service lines.
Any other duties reasonably requested by the Employer.
