Help shape the future of renewable energy as part of EDF power solutions. We’re looking for a Prepare for Operations Manager to play a key role in the performance, safety and optimisation of our onshore wind portfolio, supporting our ambition to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future.
At EDF power solutions, we're shaping an Electric UK and Ireland. As we continue to expand our renewable energy portfolio and invest in the transition to net zero.
Working across operational wind farm assets, you’ll collaborate with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders to maximise future asset performance, manage risk and deliver operational excellence throughout the asset lifecycle.
The Opportunity
As a Prepare for Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful transition of onshore wind projects into operation. You'll lead operational readiness activities, support asset handover processes and work closely with development, construction and operations teams to ensure assets are safe, compliant and ready to deliver long-term performance.
Alongside a competitive salary, annual bonus opportunity and market-leading benefits package, you'll benefit from our Flexible First approach to work. This role can be based from our offices in Edinburgh or Durham, with hybrid working arrangements that support both collaboration and flexibility. The role will also involve occasional visits to operational sites or partners in the UK and internationally.

With technologies spanning onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage and green hydrogen, we’re the UK & Ireland’s most diverse renewable generator. By 2035, we aim to deliver 10GW of low-carbon energy – and we’d love you to help us get there.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Prepare for Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring onshore wind assets are successfully transitioned into operation and continue to deliver strong operational performance. Working closely with internal teams, contractors and service providers, you'll support operational readiness activities, oversee project handovers and help optimise asset availability, reliability and commercial returns.
You'll be responsible for managing operational risks and implementing effective mitigation measures, while building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business and supply chain. The role also involves supporting contract management, procurement activities and commercial negotiations to ensure the best outcomes for our projects and assets.
You'll review and approve technical documentation, engineering proposals and operational procedures, ensuring all activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance. In addition, you'll provide clear reporting and recommendations to senior stakeholders, helping to drive informed decision-making across the portfolio.
What Do You Need to Be Great at This Role?
To be shortlisted, you'll need:
A background in the onshore wind industry with operational asset management experience, including operational readiness and O&M activities
Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to influence effectively at all levels
Strong commercial and contractual experience and the ability to negotiate and present objective recommendations regarding contract terms, values and sourcing decisions.
The ability to review, assess and approve technical proposals, design information, calculations, drawings and operational documentation
Knowledge of relevant HSE legislation together with a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to EDF power solutions sites nationally and internationally
