About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Workday Compensation Manager based in Canada.
Take on a critical role in the final stages of a Workday Compensation implementation supporting complex shipboard workforce operations. You will work with intricate compensation structures involving union agreements, job-specific pay rates, allowances, bonuses, and collective bargaining requirements. Collaborating closely with HR, HRIS, HR Technology, Compensation teams, and systems integration partners, you will identify defects and drive their timely resolution. You will also provide practical leadership to contractors and potentially one or two direct reports. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Workday professional who combines strong technical implementation expertise with a solid HR background and a deep understanding of unionized compensation.
Accountabilities
As a Workday Compensation Manager, you will lead final-stage testing and implementation activities to ensure accurate compensation calculations, reliable system integrations, and operational readiness for go-live.
Lead final integration testing and validation between Workday Compensation and the MAPS crew management and scheduling system.
Review and validate Workday Compensation configurations to ensure alignment with business requirements and complex shipboard compensation policies.
Verify compensation rules, union requirements, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), pay rates, allowances, bonuses, and other compensation elements.
Identify configuration defects, integration failures, and compensation discrepancies, coordinating corrective actions with the systems integrator (SI).
Drive the systems integrator to resolve issues quickly and maintain progress toward implementation milestones.
Support testing cycles, defect tracking, validation activities, and go-live readiness for the planned January 1 launch.
Partner with HR, HRIS, HR Technology, and Compensation teams to ensure compensation configurations accurately reflect operational and contractual requirements.
Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to contractors and potentially one or two direct reports.
Coordinate stakeholders and communicate implementation risks, testing outcomes, and outstanding issues clearly.
Support the transition to a stable compensation solution for shipboard employees while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
