Lead Software Developer - Vpay

Aspire Software is looking for a Lead Software Developer to join our team in Lebanon.

What your day will look like
Lead, mentor and grow a team of backend engineers by setting technical direction, coding standards and best practices
Own the architecture and technical design of enterprise web applications on AWS, from concept to production
Make key decisions on technology, scalability, security and cost, and balance short-term delivery against long-term maintainability
Work with Product, QA, DevOps and business stakeholders to turn requirements into realistic plans and timelines
Lead code reviews, design reviews and technical discussions
Drive the use of AI-assisted development tools and workflows across the team to improve productivity and quality
Act as the escalation point during production incidents: lead root-cause analysis, coordinate fixes and put preventive measures in place
Find and reduce technical debt, and keep improving engineering processes (CI/CD, testing, observability)
Requirements
A Computer Science or Software Engineering degree, or equivalent experience
8+ years of backend development experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead or team lead role
Deep expertise in Node.js (Nest.js, Next.js or Express) or Python (Flask or Django), and in NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise web applications on AWS, with strong knowledge of API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, Amplify, Application Load Balancers and ECS/EKS
Hands-on experience building secure, scalable AWS architectures using VPCs, IAM security policies, Kubernetes, Docker and MongoDB Atlas
Demonstrated skill with AI tools for development, and the ability to help a team adopt them
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and monitoring/observability tools
A track record of mentoring engineers and building a strong engineering culture
