About the Job
The Software Engineering Lead is a hands-on subject matter expert, engineering leader and people manager responsible for a cross-functional team delivering a defined set of products and services. This role combines technical leadership, delivery ownership, and people management.
We are looking for someone who can balance hands-on technical contribution with team development, technical decision-making and end-to-end ownership of product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Software Development
Lead the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of software products, ensuring code quality, scalability, performance and reliability.
Remain hands-on with development, debugging, code reviews and complex technical problem-solving.
Evaluate existing software architecture, identify technical gaps and drive improvements in system design, code quality and engineering practices.
Establish and maintain sound programming practices, coding standards, documentation and development workflows.
Make informed technical decisions, evaluate trade-offs and adopt new technologies or approaches where they provide meaningful value.
2. Product Delivery & Project Ownership
Own and oversee end-to-end product delivery across AI and web development teams, from requirement analysis and technical planning to development, testing, deployment and release.
Translate business and product requirements into technical roadmaps, execution plans and realistic delivery milestones, managing priorities, dependencies, risks and resources effectively.
Take accountability for delivery outcomes, proactively resolve technical and operational bottlenecks, and balance speed of execution with product quality, stability and long-term maintainability.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align technical decisions with business objectives, adapt to changing requirements and drive continuous improvements in product development.
3. AI, Computer Vision & Hardware–Software Integration
Guide the development and integration of AI-powered features, computer vision capabilities and video analytics solutions into scalable, production-ready software products.
Apply strong programming fundamentals and technical judgment to evaluate solutions, address complex engineering challenges and improve system performance across software and hardware environments.
Oversee integration between AI, web applications and relevant hardware components, accounting for system-level constraints, communication interfaces, performance and reliability.
Evaluate emerging technologies and practical engineering approaches, taking calculated risks to strengthen existing products and expand their capabilities.
Required Skills & Experience
Programming fundamentals: Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, design principles, debugging and problem-solving.
Programming languages: Proficiency in C/C++, Python and familiarity with their practical applications in software development.
Web development: Experience with Angular and full-stack development concepts, including frontend, backend, APIs, databases and system integration.
Software architecture: Ability to design, evaluate and improve modular, maintainable and scalable software systems.
AI and computer vision: Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and computer vision, with the ability to guide development and integration into production software.
Hardware–software integration: Understanding of system-level interactions, hardware constraints, communication interfaces and software integration challenges.
Engineering practices: Experience with version control, code reviews, testing, debugging, release processes and software lifecycle management.
Project execution: Ability to estimate work, plan releases, manage dependencies, prioritize competing requirements and ensure delivery accountability.
Must Have
7+ years of relevant experience in software development, with substantial hands-on engineering experience.
Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing a software development team, ideally including experience building or scaling a team.
Demonstrated ownership of software products, major features, technical initiatives or end-to-end project delivery.
Ability to make and justify technical decisions through sound engineering principles, practical experience and measurable outcomes.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams and business stakeholders.
A growth-oriented mindset, adaptability and willingness to challenge established approaches constructively.
