Role Description The Assistant Fashion Designer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The role involves supporting senior designers in developing seasonal collections, assisting with concept development, sketching designs, and preparing mood boards. Responsibilities include coordinating fabric and trim selection, working on embroidery and surface embellishments, and helping with fittings to ensure accurate silhouettes and garment construction. The Assistant Fashion Designer will collaborate with production teams, maintain design documentation, and help prepare samples and technical details for client presentations. The position also requires staying updated on fashion trends, textiles, and market preferences to contribute fresh ideas to the design team.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Fashion Design and Fashion concepts, including sketches, silhouettes, and collection development.
Practical knowledge of Textiles and Embroidery to support fabric selection, surface ornamentation, and product detailing.
Experience supporting garment Fitting processes, with attention to sizing, drape, and construction quality.
Relevant academic background in Fashion Design or a related field from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in basic design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar) is preferred.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple design tasks within deadlines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with designers, production teams, and other stakeholders.
Prior internship or work experience in a fashion studio or apparel export environment is an advantage.
