Chief Engineer with 12 month sailing experience on Tanker vessels
Technical Superintendent experience will be added advantage.
Stable career good technical experience of Dry Docks, New Build project or Take over vessels will be an advantage.
Role Description The Technical Superintendent Tanker will oversee the technical operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of assigned tanker vessels within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This full-time, on-site role involves planning and monitoring dry-dockings, repairs, and preventive maintenance, as well as ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and maritime regulations. The role includes conducting vessel inspections, reviewing performance reports, analyzing technical issues, and coordinating with shipboard staff, vendors, and classification societies. The Technical Superintendent will prepare and manage budgets for technical activities, optimize vessel performance, and support incident investigations and corrective actions. The role also requires regular reporting to management, participation in audits, and continuous improvement of technical standards and operating procedures.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Ship Management experience, including oversight of tanker operations, technical budgets, and maintenance planning.
Candidates should possess Maritime expertise, with knowledge of international regulations, safety standards, and classification society requirements.
Candidates should possess proven Inspection capabilities, including conducting onboard surveys, audits, and condition assessments for tanker vessels.
Candidates should possess Marine Engineering skills, such as understanding of propulsion systems, machinery, and onboard equipment troubleshooting.
Candidates should possess Sailing background or sea-going experience, ideally as a marine engineer or deck officer on tankers.
Relevant degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related maritime discipline.
Familiarity with tanker-specific operations (cargo handling, ballast systems, inert gas systems, and safety protocols).
Ability to interpret technical documentation, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with ship staff and shore-based stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple vessels and priorities.
Proficiency in using ship management software and standard office applications.
Experience in a similar Technical Superintendent or senior shipboard technical role will be an advantage.
