Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Software Development Intern (Python) role based in Mangaluru. The intern will assist in designing, implementing, and testing backend features for HireEdge’s assessment and simulation platforms using Python and related technologies. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean and maintainable code, fixing bugs, contributing to APIs and data processing components, and collaborating with senior engineers on new product features. The role also involves participating in code reviews, documenting technical work, and working closely with product and operations teams to refine requirements. Interns will have the opportunity to learn best practices in software engineering and contribute to systems that directly impact colleges, students, and hiring partners.
Qualifications
Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and basic software engineering principles.
Hands-on experience or academic exposure to Programming in Python and familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
Understanding of Software Development life cycle and ability to contribute to design, implementation, and testing of features.
Basic exposure to Back-End Web Development, such as working with APIs, databases, or web frameworks, is preferred.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Ability to learn quickly, follow coding standards, and work in a collaborative team environment on-site in Mangaluru.
Good problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and attention to detail in debugging and documentation.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and an interest in education, assessments, or hiring technology is an added advantage.
