About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

The Senior Technical Architect (Senior TA) role is part of Salesforce Professional Services in Iberia — a team of delivery professionals working directly with Spain and Portugal's enterprise customers. You'll join a practice navigating one of the most technically demanding moments in its history: the shift to Agentforce delivery at enterprise scale, in regulated industries, in Spanish.
As a Senior TA specialised in Life Sciences, you are the technical authority for our most complex pharma, biotech and medtech programs. You will own end-to-end solution architecture across Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud, Health Cloud, Data Cloud and Agentforce, and you will lead architecture for programs that coexist with, integrate with or migrate from Veeva Systems (CRM, Vault, Network). You'll be a trusted advisor for CIO/CTO-level and IT leadership stakeholders, set the technical direction for your engagements, and raise the bar for the Iberia architecture community.
What You'll Actually Be Doing:
Architect & Lead
Own the end-to-end solution architecture of large, multi-cloud, multi-workstream Life Sciences programs, from discovery through go-live and hypercare
Define target-state architectures for Life Sciences Cloud (commercial engagement, HCP/HCO management, omnichannel, field force effectiveness, patient/provider journeys) and for Veeva-to-Salesforce coexistence, migration or replacement scenarios
Set and govern architecture standards, patterns and review processes; lead architecture review boards and make (and defend) the hard design calls
Identify and mitigate technical risk early; act as the final technical escalation point on your engagements
Ensure designs meet the regulatory and compliance expectations of the industry (GxP, CSV/validation, 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, Sunshine Act / transparency regulations, consent and data privacy)
Integrate & Engineer
Design enterprise integration architectures between Salesforce and the life sciences landscape: Veeva CRM/Vault/Network, MDM, ERP, data warehouses, marketing automation, safety and medical systems
Define event-driven and API-led patterns (REST/SOAP, Platform Events, CDC) and lead middleware strategy (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, other iPaaS)
Architect complex data models, master data strategy (HCP/HCO, product, consent) and large-scale data migrations, including from Veeva
Design Data Cloud and Agentforce solutions: unified profiles, segmentation, grounding, guardrails and the Einstein Trust Layer in regulated settings
Review and guide code quality in Apex and LWC; work hands-on in Python or JavaScript/Node.js for tooling, automation and prototyping
Define environment, CI/CD and release strategies (Git, DevOps Center or equivalent) for large programs
Advise & Influence
Be the trusted technical advisor of customer IT leadership, translating business strategy and regulatory constraints into a pragmatic architecture roadmap
Lead technical discovery and design workshops with business and IT stakeholders
Produce and own the key architecture artefacts: solution architecture, data and integration architecture, security model, non-functional requirements, migration and cutover strategy
Partner with Sales and pre-sales on shaping, estimating and de-risking Life Sciences opportunities and SOWs
Represent Salesforce Professional Services in executive conversations, steering committees and customer events
Enable & Grow
Mentor and coach Technical Architects and Technical Consultants, building the next generation of architects in the practice
Build and share Life Sciences and Veeva-related assets, accelerators, reference architectures and lessons learned across Iberia and EMEA
Drive technical excellence and champion adoption of AI tooling in delivery
Maintain and grow certifications aligned with the practice (Life Sciences, Agentforce, Data Cloud, Architect Journey)
Lead tech club sessions, internal demos and knowledge-sharing initiatives
You're Our Person If...
8+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience in consulting or professional services, with 3+ years in an architect role leading the technical design of large, multi-cloud programs
Proven track record in Life Sciences (pharma, biotech, medtech) delivering with Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud / Health Cloud and/or Veeva Systems (CRM, Vault, Network), including coexistence or migration scenarios
Deep understanding of Life Sciences commercial and medical processes: HCP/HCO engagement, call planning, omnichannel, samples, consent management, MLR/approved content, field force operations
Working knowledge of industry regulation and compliance: GxP, computer system validation, 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, transparency and aggregate-spend reporting
Strong engineering background: Apex, LWC, REST/SOAP integrations, and fluency in at least one general-purpose language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or equivalent)
Expertise in integration and data architecture: MuleSoft or other iPaaS, MDM, large data volumes, data migration, SQL/SOQL, JSON/XML
Experience leading customer-facing architecture at senior IT level, with excellent communication and executive presence
Experience mentoring and leading other architects and consultants
Practical, daily use of AI tools (Copilot/Agentforce-style coding assistants, ChatGPT/Claude) for design, research and productivity
Fluent in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a plus for our Iberia coverage)
Salesforce certifications: Application Architect and/or System Architect required (or equivalent), plus relevant Cloud Consultant certifications; working towards Certified Technical Architect (CTA) is highly valued
Even Better If...
Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or an advanced stage in the CTA journey
Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud, Health Cloud or Data Cloud certifications
Hands-on delivery of Agentforce use cases in Life Sciences (e.g. HCP assistants, medical inquiry, field rep copilots)
Veeva certifications or in-depth Veeva Vault / Veeva CRM implementation experience
Experience in a Veeva-to-Salesforce migration program
Experience with validated environments and formal quality systems in pharma
Background in software engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline
Experience with CI/CD, source control and DevOps at scale for Salesforce
Curiosity about LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and AI-augmented solutions
Portuguese language skills and experience with customers across Spain and Portugal
