Freelance Lead Product Designer

THE ROLE
As a freelance Lead Product Designer, you’ll lead the design of new products and services for IF’s clients. You’ll deliver thoughtful, high quality experiences based on a deep understanding of user needs, and our clients’ strategies. You’ll use your creativity, curiosity and craft to elevate ideas, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team.
During your engagement with IF, you’ll help ensure our work leads to great outcomes for our clients. This means building strong relationships with the client team and developing a deep understanding of their context, goals and constraints.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
MUST HAVES:
To excel in this role you will need:
- Strong visual design skills
- The ability to lead design research and user testing
- The flexibility to move from storyboarding and high-level concepts to detailed designs and prototypes
- A deep understanding of how to create, adapt and apply design systems
- Great communication and storytelling
- Confidence leading collaborative workshops with clients and users
- Experience working on live SaaS products
- Experience working in an agency environment
NICE TO HAVE:
It would be valuable if you also had experience:
- Applying and adapting a brand to a new context
- Designing for agent-first experiences and / or generative UI
LOCATION
IF is based in London and we’re looking for someone based here or within commutable distance. We spend two days together in a studio in London Bridge or from the client’s offices. You may be asked to attend additional in-person sessions and / or travel depending on the project requirements.
