Lease Operator
Location: West Texas / Permian Basin
Schedule: 10/4 or 7/7, depending on assignment
Pay: $30–$36/hour, depending on experience
Job Summary
The Lease Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently monitoring, operating, and maintaining oil and gas production equipment and facilities. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical awareness, and the ability to identify and respond to equipment or production issues in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and operate oil and gas production equipment, including wells, pumps, compressors, separators, tanks, and related equipment.
Perform routine well and facility checks and record production data.
Monitor pressures, temperatures, fluid levels, and other operating conditions.
Identify equipment malfunctions, leaks, and abnormal operating conditions and report or address them as appropriate.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
Maintain accurate daily production and operational records.
Conduct gauge readings and ensure equipment is operating within established parameters.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lease and production area.
Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operating procedures.
Communicate effectively with field supervisors, maintenance personnel, and other operations staff.
Respond to alarms, equipment issues, and other field conditions as required.
Qualifications
Previous oil and gas production or lease operating experience preferred.
Knowledge of oil and gas production equipment and field operations.
Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment and materials as required.
Must be willing to complete a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Experience
Experience operating producing wells and production facilities.
Familiarity with pump jacks, ESPs, compressors, separators, tanks, and related production equipment.
Experience reading gauges and monitoring production rates.
Basic understanding of oil and gas production processes.
