Role Description This full-time remote Analytics Engineer (Power BI Migration) role is responsible for designing and executing end-to-end migration of existing reporting and analytics solutions into Power BI. The position involves analyzing legacy data models and reports, defining migration plans, and implementing robust data pipelines to support modern dashboards and self-service analytics. Daily tasks include building and optimizing data models, configuring ETL processes, validating data accuracy, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into Power BI solutions. The Analytics Engineer will partner with data, business, and IT teams to ensure performance, security, and reliability, while documenting technical solutions and providing guidance on best practices for Power BI usage and governance.
3+ yrs building and publishing Power BI reports, hands-on (Power BI Desktop + Power BI Service/cloud)
Demonstrable report-migration experience — moving reports from on-prem/legacy sources (Power BI Report Server, SSRS, or SQL Server) into Power BI cloud
Solid SQL scripting — able to read, adapt, and troubleshoot the queries and stored procedures behind existing reports
Working DAX and Power Query/M for measures, transformations, and report-level data modeling
Comfortable working at volume with consistency and discipline across a large report catalog (hundreds of reports)
Able to reimagine and redesign a subset of reports, not just lift-and-shift — improving layout, visuals, and usability in the Power BI cloud experience
Anchor skills: Power BI migration to cloud (Service) · report rebuild/redesign in Power BI · SQL scripting behind reports
